DOCX vs PDF: when to use which

A PDF is a finished page. Contracts, invoices, and decks that should look the same on every screen belong in PDF. The reader cannot casually reflow your line breaks.

A DOCX is a working file. Use it when a colleague still needs to comment, change a clause, or drop in a number. Sending a PDF and asking them to "just edit it" creates a worse file.
